Michael Carter — Mobius Labs
Research · Advisory · Agentic Infrastructure
Mobius Labs is a research-first venture studio working at the intersection of identity, agentic systems, and consumer product. The lab ships specs — working documents with architecture, market analysis, unit economics, and scored frameworks — at a level of detail where someone could build from them. The research is the premier work. Consulting engagements feed the research; they're where general frameworks get tested against specific client problems.

Mobius Labs — Studio Overview & Thesis
Research-first venture studio
Studio thesis: value-driven products that work for consumers and crypto-native users without compromise. Identity is the area the research keeps returning to — the agentic web is already changing how data and advertising work, and the architecture for user sovereignty over that exchange exists.
Research Portfolio
Internet of Agents (IoA) — Protocol Specification
Protocol Specification · 2025 · Agentic · Architecture
A 26-page protocol-layer specification for autonomous AI agent coordination — defining agent identity, agent-to-agent trust establishment, micropayment primitives, and accountability for multi-step autonomous action chains. Independently authored. The core principle: human sovereignty cannot be added to an agentic system after the fact. It has to be embedded at the infrastructure layer.

Advisory Engagements
Web3 Entertainment Advisory — Investment Readiness Review
Investment Readiness Review · 2026 · Advisory · Web3
Strategic advisory to a blockchain-native entertainment platform preparing a $500K–$1.5M raise on a $12–15M post-money SAFE. Eight-dimension scored evaluation framework, deck breakdown across five source documents, and call-by-call tracking of unresolved flags across a three-month engagement.

Web 2.5 Division Strategy · 2025 · Principal Strategist · M&A
Retained as Principal Strategist by a VC-backed gaming startup to design and build their Web 2.5 division from the ground up. Architected the company's blockchain market entry, built the M&A scouting and acquisition framework, vetted targets, brokered three active distribution partnerships, and co-presented the investment thesis to the parent fund. Reframe: own the game, not the token.
Civic Brand Strategy — Web3 Rebrand & Positioning

Brand strategy engagement for a Kansas City Web3 civic innovation organization. Analytical framework, competitive evaluation of four candidate names, trademark risk assessment, strategic recommendation, and a complete marketing playbook for implementation. The challenge: a brand identity that felt authentic to the existing Web3 community while remaining accessible to mainstream Kansas City audiences.
Missouri Blockchain Business Council — Legislative Strategy
Legislative Strategy · 2026 · Civic · Policy

Gaming IP, UGC & Blockchain Monetization Research
IP Lifecycle & UGC Strategy · 2025 · Research · Gaming
Research engagement mapping the intersection of gaming IP, user-generated content platforms (Roblox in particular), and blockchain-based monetization. The core premise: in gaming, the character and the world are the product — not the token, not the platform. UGC platforms have fundamentally changed the IP development calculus.
